It reminds me of the famous Tang Dynasty poem, titled “Seeking the Hermit in Vain,” by the poet Jia Dao. (In the poem, the student only knew the teacher had gone to gather medicinal herbs on the mountain, “but the clouds are too deep to know where the teacher is.”) Acrylic on canvas, 18×24 inches, 2025.
